Let’s see, what are the other benefits of having sex over a woman’s mental and physical health?

1. Reduce stress:

Women have various health problems that are the result of stress, such as heart disease. Fortunately, sex can help, as it is great source for stress relief. During intercourse, your brain’s pleasure centers receive a dose of dopamine while your cortisol concentration drops. Oxytocin, which stimulates feelings of friendship and happiness, is also released in large quantities. This chemical cocktail that your brain receives when you are having sex is just what you need to calm your mood if you are stressed. And an excess of endorphins is not bad for anyone, right?

2. Strengthen your immune system:

The Wilkes University of Pennsylvania research center found that college students who had sex at least once a week had a higher concentration of immunoglobulin ‘A’ in their saliva.

mmunoglobulin A is an antibody that helps your body protect itself from harmful external agents and helps you continue to live a healthy life. Sex can also increase the concentration of serotonin in your body. This hormone helps produce feelings of happiness. Scientists believe that there is a connection between depression and the body’s level of serotonin.

3. Lower blood pressure:

High blood pressure can have a huge effect on your health and lead to serious or life-threatening cardiovascular complications. Studies indicate that high blood pressure affects a woman’s ability to have orgasms (the climax of sexual excitement, characterized by intensely pleasurable feelings centered in the genitals and in men experienced as an accompaniment to ejaculation). And sex is linked to positive cardiovascular effects in women, as well as lower systolic blood pressure values. Here’s Effective Communication is Crucial for a Healthy Relationship.

4. You sleep better:

A satisfying session of sex can help you fight insomnia. If we have sleeping problems, sex favors sleep and reduces insomnia because the oxytocin released during orgasm acts as a sleep inducer. After you have an orgasm, your body receives a dose of prolactin, a hormone that promotes relaxation. Studies have shown that sex produces considerably more prolactin as compared to masturbation.

5. Increase libido:

Having a great sex drive is associated with countless benefits; for example, increase your self-esteem and your resistance to pain. Both the feeling of sexual desire and the activity itself are linked to the production of testosterone. This makes the bones and muscles stronger. Even sex could serve as an excuse not to go to the gym, because “vigorous sex facilitates good physical shape”. Specifically, during sexual activity the muscles are exercised, the joints are mobilized, which improves flexibility and increases caloric expenditure.

You will want your partner more, which can make you feel more desired. There are many reasons why most people want to feel connected to their sexual nature. The bones and muscles are also strengthened.

6. Improves cardiovascular health:

Sex and health are closely related. In one study, women who reported satisfying sex lives had a lower risk of hypertension or other problems. Its authors claim that having lots of satisfying sex is good for the heart. It may be because a woman’s sexual satisfaction with her partner is often related to greater emotional well-being. 7. Exercise your pelvic floor:

The pelvic floor muscles, which are responsible for controlling the flow of urine, can naturally weaken with age or pregnancy. If you’ve ever peed while laughing, it’s because you need to exercise them more. During sex, these muscles are trained. You can exercise them on your own, but it’s not much fun, especially when there are so many positions to try between two people.

8. Create intimacy:

Are there any benefits of sex in the couple?

Perhaps not surprisingly, the researchers found that sex creates intimacy and affection in relationships. The more sex a partner has, the more close they feel. Studies by experts show that physical contact and affection are very important, even for couples who have been together for a long time.

9. Protect your brain:

Women who remained sexually active into old age had better cognitive function compared to those who stopped having sex. The researchers measured the women’s ability to remember words and adjusted the results to take into account factors such as depression and level of physical activity. Sexually active women did much better on the test. Here’s How to Improve Your Self-Esteem as a Woman?

10. Burns calories:

Are there any benefits of sex on the body?

Of course yes! Both men and women burn calories during intercourse as you stretch your body and move in unusual ways. You won’t burn a ton of calories (about 5 calories per minute), but your body will fill up with energy.

Satisfying sex life has great benefits:

Sex and female sexuality are emotionally charged topics. Sometimes women are embarrassed to talk about their sexual needs and look for all kinds of secret formulas to make up for them. However, sex is a healthy activity that provides many benefits. Help keep your mind and body active as you age. Although the activity is healthy and beneficial for both sexes, there are certain added advantages that only favor women’s health.

To top it off, the sexologist highlights that orgasms reduce stress because they inhibit anxiety responses. “Shared sexuality favors the bond of the couple because caresses and physical contact stimulate the release of oxytocin, which reduces stress and increases sociability. All this contributes to the affective union of the couple.

Great article and very comprehensive. A great read for both women and men. I hope you don’t mind if I, being a woman who started experiencing multiple orgasms around 40, which I never really believed happened to women as I had never met one who
claimed to experience this before, chime in here to make a couple of what I believe are very important points.

    1) I don’t agree with having sex to help fend off insomnia especially if it is for a man. Here is why: women are emotionally more likely to want to engage in intercourse because they feel they are desired, which includes subtle affectionate words, or touches throughout the day. When a woman is awakened in the middle of the night and she knows her partner can’t sleep, being used for a cure for insomnia, is not the most flattering thing. (Try some melatonin). By the way I am not saying spontaneous sex when one or both partners have been asleep isn’t an enjoyable and healthy thing.

    2) “Sometimes women are embarrassed to talk about their sexual needs and look for all kinds of secret formulas to make up for them”

I am not going to get into why women don’t tell men what they need to experience a full orgasm as my comment would likely be way longer than your post.

According to pleasurebetter.com updated as of April 15, 2021 – Source: Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy – Only 18.4 percent of women Orgasm from Vaginal sex alone. “ These orgasm statistics gathered from a range of academic research studies”.

    3) Just me talking here – if you are with a woman who claims to achieve orgasm without clitoral or anal stimulation, she is very likely not getting sexual satisfaction. We are built different than men and there is something to be said for, “The Pointer Sisters song – “Slow
    Hand”

“81.6 percent of woman don’t orgasm from intercourse alone” (same study)

Thanks for always letting me share on your post as I think it shows what an open mind you have. Again great article.

    Hugs 🤗 Joni

      Wow, very informative response.

That’s a perfect response dear Joni and what I was looking for. All your 3 points are thoughtful and based on your personal experience and study. No doubt it’s going to hit the length of my entire article but all you said so perfect that I read it many times and waited for the best response, that’s why I got late to respond to you.
      So,
      1. Strongly agree, that a woman should not be used to cure insomnia as it happens with men often and I personally experienced it. As sex is a mutual enjoyment and it is necessary for both parties to be active mentally and physically.
      2. Well, in the third point, clitoral and other genitals have core importance for a woman to get a full orgasm.
Moreover, a woman always appreciates “slow hand” in foreplay to get penetration.
Men tend to be a bit faster and often discharge earlier because of their rush habits which leads to a bad sex experience for a woman. So, slow and steady play of emotions might be helpful for both the partners to get full orgasm and enjoy the real test of sex.
So, dear Joni, I strongly appreciate your approach and response to my article. I really enjoyed it and learned something new from your worthy response.
