7 Simple Steps to Success by Brian Tracy
Brian Tracy 7 Steps to Success: Success is a never-ending process that takes too many things from us. It is the result of ethics, hard work, and consistency. We almost everyone wish to be called a successful person. But on the other hand, everyone has their own definition of success. Success for me might be different from the level of success you want to achieve. I personally know many billionaires that are unable to be called successful and I know people having a very limited bank balance that hardly meets their daily needs and is happy for what they have. In fact, success should never be measured and compared with money. Rather it is the happiness and satisfaction one has in life.
Self discipline is one of the major factors that directly affect your success and define what you want to become and how much you have the capability to fulfill your dreams. It is the ability to follow personally imposed rules, with order and consistency, using only willpower. Furthermore, self-discipline is a virtue that is acquired with constancy and is the key to personal development. So, discipline yourself to get what you know to have in life.

In this article, we are going to explore the 7 steps to success presented by Brian Tracy to set goals in life and give them a practical shape. Brian Tracy is a Canadian-American motivational speaker and self-development author. He is the author of more than 80 books that have been translated into several languages. By applying these simple steps one can easily set goals in life and achieve them step by step without losing stamina.
There is a powerful seven-step formula offered by Brian Tracy that you can use to set and achieve your life goals. Every single successful person uses this formula or some variation of this formula to get success more than the average person. And so can you. So, here’s the 7 Steps to Success formula:
Step 1. Decide exactly what you want:
The main reason for failure is the lack of clarity about what we want to achieve. Dedicate and design your dreams and goals. You must be specific down to the last detail. Ambiguous goals lack energy and are rarely met. If your goal has to do with money, you must specify the exact amount you want to win. Ask yourself why each of your goals is important to you and what would happen if you don’t meet them, how would you feel. The more important it is, the greater the probability of being able to fulfill it.
Step 2. Write them down:
Goals that only remain in the mind are mere fantasies. Putting them in writing makes them gain strength and power. Writing them down will also help you achieve them and increase your motivation to achieve them.
Step 3. Set a deadline to achieve them:
Dates keep us focused and create a sense of urgency for the realization of our goals. In addition, with a deadline, the unconscious mind is programmed so that things happen more quickly and our degree of commitment increases.
If your goal is long-term, set a series of intermediate goals (weekly, monthly or yearly). So that you can measure your progress and that you can correct the course if necessary.
“Any goal, no matter how big, can be achieved if you break it into enough small pieces.” Henry ford
Step 4. Make a list of everything you can do to achieve them:
The longer your list, the more excited and motivated you will be to achieve your goals. Your mind is now recognizing all the possibilities that exist to achieve them. You are focusing on the solution and not the problem. Do not stop asking yourself:
In how many possible ways could I achieve it?
In this way, we activate the right hemisphere and program it to detect and show us solutions.
Step 5. Organize your list by sequence and priority:
The sequence determines the order of the tasks, their priority and their level of importance. When you have your tasks organized you will have your action plan. Do your tasks in order and by the level of importance and you will be thinking and acting at a level far above the vast majority of other people.
Step 6. Take Action:
The main reason some people achieve great success is that they take action and act on their goals. Those who fail will always find excuses to put off their performance until finally their energy and desire are gone. Take action every day, even if you don’t feel ready yet, and then correct. Remember, there is no mistake, we need to experiment through different ways to achieve the objectives and it will not be easy for us to achieve it on the first try.
Step 7. Do something EVERY DAY to get closer to your most important goals:
Do something 365 days a year, even if it’s something simple like reading a book for 10 minutes. You must develop the discipline and persistence to work on your goals daily to make them as normal and natural as breathing. We overestimate what we can do in a month, but we underestimate what we can achieve in a year.
This is the 7 steps to success formula presented by Brian Tracy. In fact, this formula is helpful in any type of life goal and meeting daily life needs. So, if you follow these steps in life, your journey to success will be much better and the results will also be surprising.
