MAKING THE ENTREPRENEUR & FEAR OF THE ONLINE BUSINESS BY THE BUSINESS OWNER

As I mentioned in my previous piece featured exclusively here, The world is changing. The world has been going through a gradual changing phase over the last few years and only recently it reached its peak at the height of a virus that coincided rather coincidentally with the gradual roll-out of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Now, I’m no conspiracy theorist, nor would I suspect anybody would be, considering that those who spin these conspiracies tend to be either shut down or made to look like a fool, but I would not be wrong in stating all of it seems rather fishy. But that’s a story for another day and not exactly what I’m here to talk about, just mainly setting the tone for you to open your mind to what I’m about to say.

As I explained in my previous piece, the traditional way of life that we have known and become accustomed to over the last number of decades is coming to an end and being replaced with a new way of life supported by the recent changes as well as this new industrial revolution being rolled out, and we can see it happening right before our very eyes whether we like it or not.

The traditional thinking that was the norm was you had to go to college, get a diploma or a degree and get a good-paying job, a job for life, a job that will give you a package and a pension when you finally retire and have hopefully climbed up the so-called “corporate ladder”. No longer are jobs secure, we have seen over the years, many people lose their jobs simply because the company they work for needs to cut costs to stay afloat, it happened notoriously during the 2008 recession and in this new version of a recession, it appears to be happening again as it has before. Except for this time around, it seems to be more aggressive than before and even sees those who manage to stay employed, receiving pay cuts which are affecting their ability to pay off their monthly debts and still put food on the table and a roof over their head and their family’s head.

FEAR OF THE ONLINE BUSINESS

The traditional ways of setting up a business have also changed – the traditional mode where you go to the bank, apply for a business loan, and set up a shop is not a guaranteed way of making money. Even prior to this pandemic, we saw numerous businesses shut down simply because they cannot keep up financially with the ever-changing economy and this leaves many without jobs or a stable way of income going forward.

The last decade has seen advancements in the online world in leaps and bounds. Looking at technology from a decade ago to now, it’s easy to see how advanced the world has become and it’s allowed for an opening of a plethora of new and interesting opportunities and ways for us to make money without physically doing much – just being online. Very few can say they have no access to technology – even your local library allows you to use their computers free of charge. In fact, if you are reading this right now, you probably have access to a computer or smartphone of some kind.

How do we stay alive in these ever-changing and increasingly uncertain times? We need to look within ourselves and think about what skill, talent, or ability we possess. Nothing is off-limits. Any talent, ability, or skill can be turned into something that can give you sustenance. Think back to your childhood to find it if you have to, everyone has some type of skill, talent or ability they were either born with or developed over time and if you will sit with yourself in all this time and say you don’t have anything, you are either lazy or not applying your mind. Even if it’s as crazy as playing games, there are plenty of YouTubers who make money just by playing games and putting it online. As a popular YouTuber by the name of Ameer Rosic says – you cannot be lazy and complacent and still complain about being broke when you don’t take the time to plan and make the effort to work for that money.
