The Effects of Stress, Anxiety, and Depression
In this article, I’m going to share the Effects of Stress, Anxiety, and Suppression of Emotions on our mind and mental health. I’m feeling so sad and depressed due to what happened to me. It’s a real-life depressed incident and a shocking experience happened to me yesterday a major occurrence of depression. Always express your emotions gently.
However, this is not a story or just an article but I’m writing it to encourage you to take care of your emotional health and to warn you about the Effects of Stress, Anxiety, and Suppression of Emotions on our mind. I can’t understand how and where to start writing it. But it’s very necessary to share it with you. As if I have not shared it with you, it can take me to the suppression of emotions. In many of my posts, I enforced that never suppress your emotions as it can take us to mental ill-health. Stress, Anxiety, and Suppression of Emotions can be caused by Hypertension. Never Suppress Your Emotions.

Would you believe that suppression of emotions is as harmful to our mental health as I’m going to share?
Effects of Stress, Anxiety, and Depression, A Real Life Incident:
Yesterday, when I was on routine work in my office. There was a weekend but due to some workload, we are called on duty even on Sunday. Half of the day was passed when I was told that one of our colleagues did not report on duty. The boss makes a phone call to him to report to the office as soon as possible. After a few moments, he reported to the workplace.
Here, I noticed that he is very upset and unhappy with the behavior of the boss as he was feeling stressed. He was busy with the arrangement of the marriage ceremony of his brother where he left everything and reported on duty. Whereas he also requested the boss to spare him but the boss didn’t agree. I met that guy and motivated him that you shouldn’t take it on the heart as it is a part of our life. It can happen to anybody and any time and we should always be ready for it. Maybe sometimes, the boss might not be able to fulfill our requirements. No doubt he is senior to us but it might also possible that he may not understand the importance of our need.
Time was on its flow and we were busy with routine work. After an hour, when I was in my office, I heard a sound of crying and dissatisfaction. I ran out of my office and tried to trace out, what is going on and from where that sound is coming. It was a very terrible sound and I was not able to bear that. At first, I imagined that maybe there are some of our colleagues are playing and having fun with each other. But I was wrong and the case was different from what I imagined. Everyone was running here there in suspense and nobody knows what has happened.
Stressed Situation:
As we reached one of our offices that guy was crying loudly in a senseless way. He was holding one of his hands on his heart as he was unable to breathe smoothly. He was crying so badly that it shocked me too much. Some of our colleagues hold him from his hands and were trying to provide first add services. For the time being, I got so scared and senseless. But then immediately I recovered and ran towards the drivers’ room and ordered a driver to take out the ambulance as soon as possible. He took the keys and started the ambulance within no time. The ambulance reached the required location within two minutes. We hold up that guy and settled him in the ambulance.
The ambulance took him to the nearest hospital. Where the ECG and other tests were taken immediately as the doctor was available on duty. But thanks God, ECG, and all medical results were clear. The doctor congratulated us that everything is normal now. I inquired from the doctor, what was the reason behind. The doctor said that this was happened due to the depression, anxiety, and suppression of emotions. The guy blood pressure level increased and as he was holding one of his hands on his heart. Now he has recovered enough but still admitted to the hospital for observation. I wish and hope he might recover soon. How to control your emotions?

Writing this post doesn’t only mean to tell you about the incident but there are two main lessons I got.
Be a Leader to avoid Stressed Situations:
1. If you are a Boss, try making yourself a Leader. The behavior of the boss many times may not be acceptable for many subordinates. Act like a leader and try to understand the requirements of each individual under your command. Spend some time with your subordinates so that they will be able to share their problems with you and it will be easier for you to manage it when required.
Never suppress your Emotions:
2. Never suppress your Emotions. I repeat, never Suppress your emotions. Express your emotions in one way or the other way gently. Suppression of emotions can lead you to hypertension and such type of incidents. When you express your emotions to somebody you divide your pressure by two. Half of your pressure on mind flow out and then slowly you recover yourself soon in a better way.
Note: As I’m not a medicinal individual. So, if there are any unrelated points in my writing or expression, you can point out it. You can share your opinion and it would strongly be appreciated.

Do you have any suggestion regarding, How to Reduce the effects of Stress, anxiety, and Depression?
Hey Star – what a heavy hit to the side of the head. Your friend probably needs a doctor’s care for depression. Hypertension, something I suffer from is more simply high blood pressure. Long term it can lead to all sorts of difficulties from minor irritability to brain bleeds and strokes. Now, you suffered a trauma situation, from which you can learn and hopefully be even more helpful should it happen again. But trauma can also effect your team and a good discussion about how they are handling it won’t hurt a bit – maybe over tacos or whatever floats your boat. Post event for you seems to have stirred some emotions – remember the seven stages of grief do not come at you in numerical order, in fact they can hit you two or three at a time. Focus on keeping kindness in your conversation and actions – more so than normal. Then exercise, bike, run, go for along walk with the dog or friends. Got faith in you. Persevere.
Absolutely right, my friend is still in hospital and under observation and regular treatment. The blood pressure level of my friend was very much down. Thank you so much for your worthy response as it is so much helpful. Regards
I find having a hobby helps. A creative outlet lowers stress and gives a sense of accomplishment.
Absolutely, that’s great, to get rid of stress you have to make your day a bit busy.
I deal with repressed emotions and it can make life very difficult. One of the reasons I enjoy blogging is because it gives me an outlet.
That’s really good, you’re doing great with your repressed emotions as you have found a great source to keep yourself busy and energetic.
Yeah.you are absolutely true.boss may be senior in office but he should care the all situations of subordinates.in this way,the office work will be good and best resulted.but harshness is harmful for both-boss and his subordinates.when one will be in anxiety, depression and suppression then other who is reason for all these type things, how can be well and without hypertension .right, dear!
Absolutely right dear, if we are creating difficulties first we have ourself have to pass through it after that we deliver it to the next person. Well said dear
Thanks and welcome🌷
That’s good, good morning and have a great day dear.
Good morning and have a wonderful day.
Thanks
Great article!
Thanks Tamara for being stopping by and taking a look at my blog post. It really means a lot to me.
Great post!
Thank you so much Lydia
You’re very welcome!
Thank you for this, this post is golden and beneficial for everyone!
Hope so Kevin. As it was a practical experience with me so I though I should put it on paper may be it might help someone.
Awesome stuff!
I totally agree with you about the suppression of emotions causing a higher risk of other factors occurring and certainly I have suffered from hypertension in the past.
I find now that by sharing my concerns and working as a team with my partner I don’t tend to get as stressed.
Controlled breathing helps I find along with mindfulness which can be practiced anywhere, it is really about being in the moment and noticing how things are using your senses.
In terms of your thoughts about bosses, I have worked for some very good ones and some very bad ones. I have always found the good ones to be excellent communicators, understanding and willing to work alongside the workforce to achieve better results but also they listen and look for solutions to the issue rather than focus upon the issue itself.
It’s amazing, you have managed your Hypertension problem wonderfully. I believe that we understand ourselves better than anybody else and we can deal with it in a better way. Sharing of workload and building a strong team, is a great source of achieving any goal easily.
Good post. There us a difference in repressing and suppressing emotions, feelings and thoughts. People handle stress in different ways. Weather a situation is stressful depends on how you see it, whether you feel threatened. People have higher and lower trigger points. Each person’s should try to understand what their stress level and trigger points are. That can help.
Absolutely, some people manage stress wonderfully as it seems not any problem to them and some people feel so much pressure in less tense environment too. I think those who are socially stronger can handle depression in an awesome way. Am I right?
I think it us correct that social connections help with depression.
I also think so.
I lost a family member and the way of coping with my emotions was through yoga and expressing my emotions through writing, dancing and singing..just taking out all the sadness. And then it comes a relief after..
I am not so much of talking with others about my feelings, i feel better finding personal ways of expressing them.
We all are unique and should find own to do it, try different things until see what it works. As you wrote is very important to not keep it inside because it will create more stress and can even attract more diseases. Sending a warm thought to your friend.
Thank you so much Marlyn for your time and expressing your thoughts with us. Your story is very sad and during such situations recovery is so much difficult and takes time. Your ways of releasing stress is also unique and thoughtful.
Infact everyone has its own ways to express their emotions and release stress.
This is a great post!
Thanks Cristina for stopping by and taking your time and kind words. It really means a lot to me.

Have a wonderful night Cristina
Thank you! You too!
When someone is experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression, he/she may not be able to think clearly how to channel what he/she feels. So far, I’ve been through detrimental lows more than twice that make me feel stressed and depressed and experience anxiety. Through this experience, I find that exercising helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. As for me, it’s a bodyweight workout. Others may prefer yoga, cardio, zumba, or martial arts. Also, don’t isolate yourself. Surround yourself with positive vibes. And if you notice that someone is experiencing this, accompany and listen to him/her. They need a company so that they don’t feel alone. I wished I knew this years ago.
Ms Curly, it’s really pleasant to hear from that you have found ways to overcome stress, anxiety and depression. Both of your ways (exercises and being sociable) are very important to overcome this. Exercise makes us stronger and busy in life and socialism help us share and express our emotions.
Stress can break you. Anytime I find myself under stress, I try keep myself busy with. It works for me. Thanks for your post.
Absolutely and you are doing well with stress. To reduce stress we need to keep ourselves busy, as it can help a lot. Also sharing the inner feelings can help us reduce stress.

Absolutely Kim, and by the mercy of God my friend is now healthy and recovered successfully.
That is so good to hear. I’m sure a very scary moment.
Yes Kim, ut was a bit scary moment for what it happened to me for the first time.
Oh of course . You handled it well it seems.
I also think so as the ambulance was available and hospital was also nearby to over place.
Yes such a good thing. You seem to have stayed calm and level headed . Which is so hard to do in times like that.
In fact it sometimes hard to control our emotions because it could be a time of panic all around. Stayed calm at that time is a good strategy to adopt.
Yes indeed it is.
Hmmm
Hmmm?
Hmmm means, a deep breath
Oh why is that?
It’s when you think to response but you don’t have words what to say now then I just say hmmm….

Unfortunately, suppression of emotions is very common among so many in different walks of life. I can relate to military and public safety doing this. We have earned the title of twisted humor by shrugging things off with humor and it is a way to vent in a roundabout way; however, we do not ever fully recover from some of the horror we experience. Well said!
You are absolutely right cruz, in fact some of the horrors occurred so accidentally that it takes too much time to recover from it. Ut human beings are so strong that have the ability to bear many consequences at an early age and this strength gradually decreases with the passage of time.
Very nicely pen down. One of the best way to distress is to ventilate ourselves.secondly you can also pen down your “emotions, worries and negative thoughts on piece of paper”. I personally encounter many patients, student and close friends in my life who are facing depression, anxiety, stress, schizophrenia and other psychiatric and mental disorder in their life. I personally advice them to go for regular practice of pranayam ( deep breathing exercises), meditation,Namaz, prayer and relevant spiritual material according to their belief and Faith.I also personally advice them to engage them in any philanthropic and social task which increases their self esteem. I am not champion but on personal level I have done counselling of many friends, student and patients.Even my aim of blogging is create greater awareness in field of psychology and mental health. kindly edit the paragraph of hypertension- it is basically rise in normal blood pressure.I hope you will not mind.ok by for now and have a nice day rising star.🌷🌷🌷🙏🙏🙏🙏
Awwww, I am agree with you. All these are great tips.
thank you so much bro, I will definitely edit the paragraph.
Let me check it once again as it seems a bit older posts of mine.
