Skardu and Gilgit are one of the most beautiful tourist places in Gilgit Baltistan, A Province of Pakistan. These two visiting places are very much popular among local tourists as well as Internal tourists. The beautiful mountains and rivers double the beauty of Skardu and Gilgit and make it heaven on earth. These are also one of the most favorite places for Skying because of the highest mountains and well-covered snow in the summer season.

Skardu and Gilgit are considered to be the best tourist places in the Summer season. The local government is also taking interest to support international tourists and trying their best to encourage people of the world to visit Pakistan especially the Northern areas of Pakistan. These areas are at a sufficient height and remain cold even in hot weather.

1. Gilgit:

Gilgit is the capital city of Gilgit-Baltistan. It is a territory in Pakistan administered Kashmir. The city is located in a broad valley near the convergence of the beautiful Gilgit River and Hunza River.

Its elevation is 1,500 meters.

Area of Gilgit is 38,000 km².

Territory‎ is of ‎Gilgit Baltistan.

Whereas Hunza valley is a mountainous valley Located in Gilgit-Baltistan, the region of Pakistan. Hunza is situated in the northern part of Pakistan, bordering with the Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan and the Xinjiang region of China. It is situated at an elevation of 2,438 meters.

Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows was named by German climbers and locally known as Jaugth. Fairy Meadows is a grassland near one of the base campsites of the Nanga Parbat, located in District Diamer of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Fairy meadows are a viewpoint and a mountain resort that offers magnificent view of the killer mountain hotel.

2. Skardu:

Skardu is a city in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. It serves as the capital of Skardu District. Skardu is located in the ten Kilometre (10 Km) wide by forty Kilometres (40 KM) long Skardu Valley, at the confluence of the Indus and Shigar Rivers at an elevation of nearly Twenty-five hundred meters (2,500 m).

Its elevation is 2,228 meter.

Whereas Autonomous territory is of Gilgit Baltistan.

Nanga Parbat:

Nanga Parbat (Diamer) is the ninth highest mountain in the world at 8,126 m above the sea level. Nanga Parbat is located in the Diamer District of Gilgit-Baltistan region, Pakistan. It is the western anchor of the Himalayas.

Shangrila Resort:

Shangrila Lake, also known as Lower Kachura Lake is located in Kachura village in Skardu city at a height of 2,500 metres. The lake is also known as Shangrila lake after a resort built on its bank in 1983.

    I especially like the last two, with the reflections of the buildings in the water.
    Reflections like this can only be photographed when the water is very calm, when there is no wind.
