A Lady in the Bus… When it was 02:00 AM

The last night, I traveled in a bus on a long journey. I started my journey at 11:00 PM. It was a pleasant journey because, the weather was quieted awesome. It was a rainy night. I always enjoy travel in the night in such a pleasant weather.

As I started the journey, I was sitting with another passenger on the second seat of the bus. When it was 02:00 AM. The another passenger with my seat reached his destination and left the bus. Now, I was sitting alone and the other seat was free.

I saw a lady at an age of nearly 18 years, travelling with another old lady, maybe it was her mother or possibly her mother-in-law. The lady was holding her cute baby in her arms. She was sleeping while sitting on a seat and also holding her baby in her arms.

The lady looked at me and I also looked at her. After sometime, she again looked at me and I also looked at her. It happened three to four times. After sometimes she gets up her seat holding her baby in her arms and looked all around the bus and again sit down on her seat. Most of the passengers were sleeping at that time. She again looked at me several times. I felt, that the lady is in need of some help, but she could not express and can’t ask for help. In my area, it is not possible to ask a stranger about something both for a man, and for a woman. But my heart was not feeling good without asking her that if she need some help from my side. I hold down my heart beats and literally asked her that if she is looking for having my seat. No sooner I asked her, she said yes I need your seat. I left my seat and said to her that you can freely sit on my seat. She left her seat holding her baby in her arms and sit down on my seat.

I surprised more when she took her another baby from the same single seat. I was wondered how did she managed two babies with a single seat. I was feeling so happy and proud of myself. I think that I helped her a lot. Although it was not any major deed but my small effort done a lot to that lady, and her two babies.

Here I write this Article not to show that I’m a good person but I realize that I should discuss this matter with you because this happens to all of us in our daily lives. There is a requirement of a little concentration that can help others a lot.

We the human beings are not born for ourselves. But we are here to help others and to support those who need our care. We the youngsters are to give a little concentration to senior citizens, Ladies and Babies. They always need our special concentration. We should help and support them. Leaving a seat for aged people and ladies does not disturb us more than it means a lot to their support and happiness.

How did you find this small piece of effort to strengthen our peaceful community?

  1. That was sweet and very considerate of you. I am glad you were alert and conscientious to see her need. I am sure she was so grateful. We do need more people in this world who will pay attention to those around and be willing to serve them when they are able. It surely would help the world to be a better place.

  2. You’re right. Too often we ignore the little voice inside of us that tells us to help other people. Your description of “your heart not feeling good” is how it feels when we don’t help. We need more people to open their eyes and help others. 🙂

  3. That was very kind of you.. and that’s what most of the people should do. Sometimes we feel kinda weird asking somebody if they need our help without having them asking for it, but that’s what makes us human, and helping others is definitely worth the effort! good job!

  4. It was a good deed 😊. Sometimes people want to help genuinely but are scared of been top forward or not knowing if they should or not. I remembered my experience, my baby was 6weeks and due for her shot and this was 6months ago. I booked an uber ride but for some reasons best known to about 3 declined drivers, I decided to use the public bus cause I was running late and it wasn’t the best idea though. I had given birth through CS and I was still having minor pains. An elderly woman saw my Expression and without asking, she took my baby and made a small pillow from her bag and asked me to relax and I didn’t know when I started crying. Long story short she was went to the centre with me.

  5. This is so good. Our society is becoming extremely individualistic with no regard or care for others. It’s a “me, me, me” society. Thank you for calling our attention to the need to show kindness to the elderly and those with children. A small act of kindness may mean the world to the one we show kindness to. It goes a long way!…and we don’t need to video record our acts of kindness for the world to see. Respecting people’s privacy and dignity is important. I like that you wrote about your act of kindness just to inspire others to do the same.

    1. You are right dear I just wrote this to motivate my younger lots, in today’s world everyone is just thinking about “me, me, and me”, my mission is to help is make the world a better place to live in. If we all pay a little we can do it.. Elders and ladies with babies are the real beauty of the world and we should give them a good respect. Thank you so kind dear for your kind words and time to my blog. Be blessed
